Who we are

An “Ittehad” of Talent & Technology

From being a pioneer in the manufacturing of Chlor-alkali products in Pakistan to operating one of the most energy efficient caustic soda plant in the world, Ittehad chemicals believes in being the “best in its class”.

Our manufacturing complex, located in Kala Shah Kaku, district Skeikhupura, started production in 1964. The company was nationalized in 1972 and was later privatized in 1995.

After successive capacity expansions and technology upgrades, today, our plant has a capacity to produce  425 MT /day of Caustic Soda. Our range of products also includes Liquid Chlorine, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Sulphate, Sodium Hypochlorite, Calcium Chloride and Carbon Dioxide which are supplied to our valued customers all over Pakistan and are also exported to different countries in the GCC region..

In order to diversify, ICL ventured into the manufacturing of surfactants (LABSA, SLES1, SLES2 and SLES3) in 2019. Within a short span of time, ICL has established itself as a quality producer of surfactants in Pakistan. ICL takes pride in being the supplier of choice for renowned national and multi-national companies.

As a socially responsible organization we believe in maintaining double bottom line where we evaluate our performance not only by fiscal measures but also by our positive social contribution. Through continuous efforts and significant investments the company now has minimized harmful emissions to the atmosphere and is also commissioned a water treatment plant for safe disposal of effluent generated during plant operations.

Our journey has been a journey of self-belief, continuous improvement, diversification and growth. Our core values of Ethics, Respect, Teamwork and Accountability differentiates us from our competitors. We believe in the immense potential of our great nation and always strive to make positive contributions to the well-being and prosperity of our people.

History

The factory is strategically located on the 19th/20th Kilometers of GT Road from Lahore and spread over an area of 106 acres. It is approachable from the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway as well as from the main city of Lahore, being less than an hour drive. The place is known as Kala Shah Kaku, an industrial site which has seen the growth of industries over the past decades stretching up and beyond Gujranwala along the G.T Road. Apparently, Kala Shah Kaku and its neighboring vicinities have both gained tremendous importance and become a hub of commercial, economic and educational activities. As industrialization flourished over the years, a large number of small townships also mushroomed in and around the vicinity due to availability of livelihood to the local residents at their doorsteps
